Sammy Swindell resides in Cordova, TN and was born on October 26, 1955.
Sammy won his third World of Outlaws championship in 1997, his first
since winning back-to-back titles in 1981-82, going 15 years between
championships is a record among major auto racing series. He's the
first driver/owner to win a Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series
championship. He won 19 "A" Features and 11 Preliminary Features,
including a record seven straight in late August and early September,
in 1997. He won his first Williams Grove National Open championship last
year recording 49 top-fives and 59 top-10s in 71 main events and celebrated
